Patriots Select Stevan Ridley (RB) and Mallett (QB)

The Patriots just shocked everyone for a couple minutes, then everyone thought it over... and they aren't so surprised. Ryan Mallett could easily be the best QB in this draft but because of off field issues.

Scouting report:
Mallett will occasionally miss a receiver across the middle with his tendency to throw some passes too high. Using his exceptional arm strength, he can place the ball into tight windows that even some NFL quarterbacks can’t hit. He does a great job of putting the ball where only the receiver can catch it. He also excels at throwing accurately while on the run after being forced out of the pocket. Accuracy is a strong aspect of his game, but there is definite room for improvement.

Right before Mallett The Patriots selected a 2nd Running Back. Stevan Ridley is a 5'11" 225 lb RB out of LSU. Ridley is a strong runner who refuses to go down easy. Look for Stevan to be used in primarily short yardage situations.

Scouting Report:
Good size, has a muscular frame... Holds onto the football, no ball security issues... Cuts well in traffic... Tough between the tackles, doesn't go down easy... Strong runner, finishes his runs well... Great leg drive, really pushes the pile... Good vision... Patient runner, lets his blockers set up in front of him... Good blocker, gets his hands into defenders...
